BLCKTEC 430: How to find Freeze Frame

Purpose

To explain where to find your Freeze Frame data while using the BLCKTEC 430.

Introduction

Freeze Frame is a snapshot of the OBD2 parameter values at the time that your vehicle detects a malfunction or error occurring in your vehicle due to an upcoming DTC.

Step 1 - Select the type of scan that you want to perform

To access your Freeze Frame results, plug in your device, and pair to the RepairSolutions2 App. You can perform three types of scans in the Home Menu.

Check Engine - This feature scans all codes related to your engine and checks the engine light.

Read Codes - Select this feature if you want to scan either one or multiple modules. The features will open a list of modules from your vehicle that you can choose to scan.

Whole System - This feature scans all modules and systems from your vehicle, including brake (ABS) and airbag (SRS) codes.

Step 2 - Wait until the RS2 app reads the data from your vehicle.

The RS2 app will read the data from your vehicle, including the odometer.

Step 3 - Select Generate Report.

After your vehicle's odometer is read by the RS2 app, select Generate Report.

While generating the report, ensure your vehicle is turned to the ON position, and your smart device is close to your BLCKTEC 430.

Once the report is generated, a Done message will be shown on the screen.

Note: Your vehicle’s odometer mileage should automatically be recorded in the Odometer field.

Step 4 -View Report Page.

After the RS2 app finishes generating your report, the Report Page will appear showing the number of codes found for your scan. To access the codes list, select Results.

Step 5 -Select the Freeze Frame button.

On the engine results page, select the Freeze Frame button under your vehicle's Primary Code.

Step 6 -View Freeze Frame data

After selecting Freeze Frame, you can now access a report of your vehicle's Freeze Frame data at the time the malfunctions occurred.
