BLCKTEC 410: How to find Freeze Frame

Purpose

To explain where to find your Freeze Frame data while using the BLCKTEC 410.

Introduction

Freeze Frame is a snapshot of the OBD2 parameter values at the time that your vehicle detects a malfunction or error occurring in your vehicle due to an upcoming DTC code.

Step 1 - Select Scan Engine.

After pairing with the RS2 app, select the Scan Engine. The scan engine runs a monitor test for the check engine light and creates a report detailing your engine's specific problems.

Step 2 - Wait until the app reads the data from your vehicle.

The RS2 app will read the data from your vehicle, including the odometer.

Step 3 - Select Generate Report.

After your vehicle's odometer is read by the RS2 app, select Generate Report.

While generating the report, ensure your vehicle is turned to the ON position, and your mobile phone is close to your BLCKTEC 410.

Once the report is generated, a Done message will be shown on the screen.

Note: Your vehicle’s odometer mileage should automatically be recorded in the Odometer field.

Step 4 - Select Results and view Report for Check Engine Light.

The Report Page will appear after the RS2 app is done generating reports. The report will show a number of engine codes found related to your Check Engine Light. To access the codes list, select Results.

Step 5 - Select the Freeze Frame button.

On the Engine results page, select the Freeze Frame button under your vehicle's Primary Code.

Step 6 - View Freeze Frame data.

After selecting the Freeze Frame Button, you can now access a report of your vehicle's Freeze Frame data at the time of your vehicle malfunction.
