BLCKTEC 410: How to find your Check Engine Report

Purpose

To explain how to run a Check Engine Light Report while using the BLCKTEC 410.

Step 1 - Select Scan Engine.

After pairing your BLCKTEC 410, select the 'Scan Engine'. The scan engine runs a monitor test for the check engine light and creates a report detailing your engine's specific problems.

Step 2 - Wait until the app reads the data from your vehicle.

The app will read data from your vehicle, including the odometer.

Step 3 - Select Generate Report.

After your vehicle's odometer is read by the app, select 'Generate Report'.

While generating the report, ensure your vehicle is turned to the 'ON' position, and your mobile phone is close to your BLCKTEC 410.

Once the report is generated, a 'Done' message will be shown on the screen.

Note: your vehicle’s odometer mileage should automatically be recorded in the Odometer field.

Step 4 - Select Results and view your report.

The 'Report Page' will appear after the mobile app is done generating reports. The report will show a number of Engine Codes found related to your check engine light. To access the Codes List, select 'Results.'

Step 5 - Select Show Details in the Primary Code to view more details.

Once you select 'Results' the app will automatically navigate you toward the Check Engine Light Report. Scroll down to check all Primary Codes, Stored Codes, Pending Codes, and Permanent codes related to the Check Engine Light. For more information on the Primary Code, select 'Show Details' to view more information.

Step 6 - View details.

After selecting 'Show Details', the app will display the Severity, Definition, and effect on your vehicle the Primary Code has on your vehicle.
