BLCKTEC 430: How to Scan SRS or Safety Restraint System Codes

Purpose

To know how to Scan SRS & Safety Restraint System Codes while using the BLCKTEC 430.

Step 1 - Select 'Read Codes.'

After pairing the RepairSolutions2 app and the BLCKTEC 430, select 'Read Codes' to open a by-module drop-down list of individual monitor options.

Step 2 - Select the Module related to the SRS Airbag Control Module.

Select the module related to the Airbag Control Module. The SRS Airbag Control Module may be displayed under different acronyms depending on the make and model car you are scanning. See this article for more details: What is an SRS Airbag Control Module? The SRS Airbag Control Module may be called:

ECU (Electronic Crash Unit)
RCM (Restraint Control Module)
DERM (Deployment Energy Reserve Module)
SDM (Sensing diagnostic module)
ORC (Occupant Restraint Controller)
SAS (Sophisticated Airbag Sensor)
EDR (Event data recorder)
Airbag ECU (Electronic Crash Unit)
ACM (Airbag Control Module)

Step 3 - Wait until the app reads the data from your vehicle.

The app will read data from your vehicle, including the odometer.

Step 4 - View the report for SRS codes by selecting the link showing the number of codes.

	Select the link showing the number of codes.
	You may now view the report page.
