BLCKTEC 430: How to View Mode 6

Purpose

To explain the steps on how to access the Mode 6 Feature of the BLCKTEC 430.

Introduction

Mode 6 is one of the OBD Modes that the BLCKTEC 430 provides. Mode 6 is stored data for On- Board System Test when performing a scan. This data shows a broad reading but provides help by giving the user a starting point on where to begin the troubleshooting process.

With the BLCKTEC 430, Mode 6 is under the Vehicle Health Feature. To view, you can follow the steps below:

Step 1 - Select 'Whole System.'

After pairing the Mobile App and the BLCKTEC 430, you can access Vehicle Health by selecting 'Whole System.'

Note: Vehicle Health Feature is only for Network Scans.

Step 2 - Wait until the app reads the data from your vehicle.

The app will read data from your vehicle, including the odometer.

Step 3 - Select 'Generate Report.'

After your vehicle's odometer is read by the app, select 'Generate Report.'

While generating the report, ensure your vehicle is turned to the 'ON' position, and your mobile phone is close to your BLCKTEC 430.

Once the report is generated, a 'Done' message will be shown on the screen.

Note: your vehicle’s odometer mileage should automatically be recorded in the Odometer field.

Step 4 - Viewing of your Mode 6.

The 'Report Page' will appear after the mobile app is done generating reports. You can see the Mode 6 or Vehicle Health of the following Systems:

Brake Life
Oil Life
Oil Level
Battery Status
Transmission Fluid Temp
Tire Pressure

Note: If Mode 6 failures are found, use the following system as the starting point of the troubleshooting process. You can use other modes to have clearer and more accurate readings, like the BLCKTEC 430 Mode 1 for Live Data, Mode 2 for Freeze Frame, and Mode 3 for Trouble Codes.
